Spotting Fakes On Facebook
A SCARS™ Quick Guide
FAKE MILITARY ID CARDS
Right Up Front – If Someone Sends You A Photo Of Their Military ID Card They ARE A Scammer!
That is because it is illegal for United States Military personnel to copy their ID cards. It is that simple!
However, so many people want to understand how to make sure they are fakes that we have created the following.
United States Military ID Cards Are Called “CAC” – Common Access Cards. The CAC, a “smart” card about the size of a credit card, is the standard identification for active duty uniformed Service personnel, Selected Reserve, U.S. Department of Defence [DoD] civilian employees, and eligible contractor personnel. It is also the principal card used to enable physical access to buildings and controlled spaces, and it provides access to DoD computer network and systems.

FAKE PASSPORTS
Fake passports are also easy to spot!
The first rule is just to look for the obvious! Fake passport sent to you as a photo has been altered in photoshop so they have replaced the text. Look for the details to be in a different font, or different sizes, or not properly aligned. This alone identifies them almost every time!

Remember That Scammers Are First, And Foremost Liars!
So they will try to trick you into believing that they have a verified profile. However, only true public figures have the real blue checkmark and then in only appear in ONE PLACE – following their Profile Name.
Unfortunately, Facebook is not consistent with this and many verified profiles do not have the checkmark.
These are real Verified Profiles that appear in a search – Fakes Will Never show in this way!
Here is how it appears on a real Verified Profile:

Do you see the BLUE CHECKMARK?
It will NEVER be any other place on a real verified profile. However, not all verified profiles show the checkmark. Facebook is very inconsistent in adding them. Many people have been verified but Facebook has not displayed the checkmark.
