Duran Duran is on tour – and the scammers are out using their names to get gift cards and crypto. Same old story – Baby I Love You, I Am Divorcing My Wife, Send me A Gift Card… The one claiming to be John Taylor was particularly good – full of all sorts of flowery positivity and poetry. I didn’t fall for it… It’s terrible out there! Where are you, nice guys?
I’m 78 years old now and was 76 when I was romantically scammed. I was scammed for approximately $17000.00 of my hard earned money. I would send money via Walmart every week, bought three computer, and 2 iPhones which I sent to Ghana. When I realized I was being scammed I stopped immediately sending money and threw away all evidence ie money order receipts, proof of purchase because I didn’t want my family to know how stupid I was. His name was Donald Witcher who claimed he had a 12 year old son and needed money to support him. I’m easy how could could I say no to that?
