SCARS™ Website: Is Secure

For a time, to facilitate your access we had to remove the https encryption, but we wanted to assure you that it has been turned back on and all communications between your device and this website are encrypted and secured by SSL https protocol.

SSL HTTPS Protocol

Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) is the secure version of HTTP, the protocol over which data is sent between your browser and the website that you are connected to (www.RomanceScamsNow.com »). The ‘S’ at the end of HTTPS stands for ‘Secure’. It means all communications between your browser and the website are encrypted. HTTPS is often used to protect highly confidential online transactions like online banking and online shopping order forms.

Anti-Scam Security

In addition to the SSL Certificate to encrypt communications between our website and your browser, we also employ other Security Countermeasures:

These include:

  • Country Blocking
  • Multi-Layered Cybersecurity
  • Active Anti-Scam / Anti-Spam Comment Blocking
  • Human Review Of All Interactions

Country Blocking

RomanceScamsNow.com automatically blocks access to our website from these countries:

Countries Blocked By RomanceScamsNow.com

Countries Blocked By RomanceScamsNow.com

Of course, this is not absolute, but coupled with our other means provides a solid series of layers that protect this website and its viewers. The primary reason to block whole countries is that it prevents access by more scammers, especially those in the Scammer Nations.

Multi-Layered Cybersecurity

Our website also employs over 9 layers of cybersecurity features and active tools to prevent & detect any attempts at unauthorized access, and block them. On any given day, hackers attempt over a thousand attempt to break into our website. So far (knock on wood) they have been unsuccessful! We cannot detail our constantly upgrading methods (since we do not want the bad guys to know how we do it) but understand that this is of utmost importance to us.

Active Anti-Scam / Anti-Spam Comment Blocking

We also actively prevent attempts by the bad guys to either spam our website with fake comments or to troll for victims.

Here are the Stats on that over the last few months:

Our Website Is Secure - SCARS™ 2

Obviously, some periods are worse than others and it is important that we employ layers of automated tools to prevent unwanted comments from being allowed on our website. Currently, we enjoy an ACCURACY of 99.53%

Human Review Of All Interactions

In addition to all of these, our team is always looking for and reviewing all activities on our website. From file changes (making sure they are just authorized updates), to every post and comment, to access logs, and much much more. These are just the things that have to be done in a cyber insecure world.

We Wanted To Share

Our Society believes strongly in transparency in what we do and who we are. Almost EVERY anti-scam group is either a fake, a fraud, a scammer, or an amateur lying to you about what they know (except for SCARS Members who strictly follow the SCARS Code of Conduct in what they do). We hope this helps you feel a little more secure after your experience.

Just know that we will do everything we can to help maintain the trust in what we do.

FAQ: How Do You Properly Report Scammers?

It is essential that law enforcement knows about scams & scammers, even though there is nothing (in most cases) that they can do.

Always report scams involving money lost or where you received money to:

  1. Local Police – ask them to take an “informational” police report – say you need it for your insurance
  2. Your National Police or FBI (www.IC3.gov »)
  3. The SCARS|CDN™ Cybercriminal Data Network – Worldwide Reporting Network HERE » or on www.Anyscam.com »

This helps your government understand the problem, and allows law enforcement to add scammers on watch lists worldwide.
