FAQ: How Do You Properly Report Scammers?
It is essential that law enforcement knows about scams & scammers, even though there is nothing (in most cases) that they can do.
Always report scams involving money lost or where you received money to:
- Local Police – ask them to take an “informational” police report – say you need it for your insurance
- Your National Police or FBI « www.IC3.gov »
- The Scars Worldwide Reporting Network « HERE » or on « www.Anyscam.com »
This helps your government understand the problem, and allows law enforcement to add scammers on watch lists worldwide.

A Note About Labeling!
We often use the term ‘scam victim’ in our articles, but this is a convenience to help those searching for information in search engines like Google. It is just a convenience and has no deeper meaning. If you have come through such an experience, YOU are a Survivor! It was not your fault. You are not alone! Axios!
A Question of Trust
At the SCARS Institute, we invite you to do your own research on the topics we speak about and publish, Our team investigates the subject being discussed, especially when it comes to understanding the scam victims-survivors experience. You can do Google searches but in many cases, you will have to wade through scientific papers and studies. However, remember that biases and perspectives matter and influence the outcome. Regardless, we encourage you to explore these topics as thoroughly as you can for your own awareness.
Statement About Victim Blaming
Some of our articles discuss various aspects of victims. This is both about better understanding victims (the science of victimology) and their behaviors and psychology. This helps us to educate victims/survivors about why these crimes happened and to not blame themselves, better develop recovery programs, and to help victims avoid scams in the future. At times this may sound like blaming the victim, but it does not blame scam victims, we are simply explaining the hows and whys of the experience victims have.
These articles, about the Psychology of Scams or Victim Psychology – meaning that all humans have psychological or cognitive characteristics in common that can either be exploited or work against us – help us all to understand the unique challenges victims face before, during, and after scams, fraud, or cybercrimes. These sometimes talk about some of the vulnerabilities the scammers exploit. Victims rarely have control of them or are even aware of them, until something like a scam happens and then they can learn how their mind works and how to overcome these mechanisms.
Articles like these help victims and others understand these processes and how to help prevent them from being exploited again or to help them recover more easily by understanding their post-scam behaviors. Learn more about the Psychology of Scams at www.ScamPsychology.org

The Douglas Malcom Fraser I have been chatting with needs a card to keep his Wi-Fi working so he can keep talking to me…yeah and how many others? I have kept track of the ‘kids’ who need money to continue playing their games online. Or those men who somehow cannot chat any longer but want to keep in contact. These scammers keep pressuring to run out and get a card. “only” $500 HA! Well they won’t get a thing from me. Even today a scammer using a different name contacted me, but it is interesting that this guy blocked me after certain information he gave. These scammers tend to use sympathy stories to melt hearts. BALONEY!
Scammers are still going strong. I have seen 2 of them. Different scenarios, 1 stating he’s in Syria, the other is in Yemen. Both wanting money to get out and wanting the cash sent through the United Nations. Having a son. 1 of them misses him, the other wants nothing to do with him. Both are on Google chat.
En General Douglas M. Fraser kontaktade mig för några dager sen, han är i Ukraina , will därifrån men behövde hjälp! So vad tycker ni om detta ? han ljuga förstå jag ! Det är hemskt med vad för lögn dom kommer ! Ingrid S.
THERE ARE NO U.S. MILITARY FIGHTING IN UKRAINE
Ukraine troops are being trained in Poland & Germany!
Snažím sa pochopiť, no zrejme nikdy nepochopím túto formu zla.
Thank you for your comment. We do all that we can, and this big battle is still ahead. But this problem will be solved in time.

I left a lengthy message about this but I think I deleted it in error. The man I supposed to get talking to was general ,4 star James Michael. , widower, 2 children in boarding school looking to find someone to enjoy the remaining years of his life. In most of our conversations , he ignored any questions that I asked. One conversation in particular was the Nigerian 22 year old who. Became rather defensive and wrote that I asked too many questions. The questions were about Houston where he supposed to be living. I have lived in Houston and was just asking about parts of the town etc. He then responded he was in the El Paso section. I will send photos that I have including copy of his military I d which is probably fake too Told him El Paso was its own city in Texas not a part of Houston. Guy needed a map
I am glad I was only out one. One hundred gift card. It is just terrible that these scammers are using United States military gentlemen in an attempt to profit. Our military is there to help them and this is what they get in return. I am not going to lie , I had doubts from the beginning but wished James Michael was a real person it got to the point that I really didn’t know if I was talking to the man from Houston or someone else, he said he wanted to get married and told his kids. They were happy for him. Daughter even wanted me to email her I did send a short introductory note via email
Judy, you left a message where?
