A Note About Labeling!
We often use the term ‘scam victim’ in our articles, but this is a convenience to help those searching for information in search engines like Google. It is just a convenience and has no deeper meaning. If you have come through such an experience, YOU are a Survivor! It was not your fault. You are not alone! Axios!
A Question of Trust
At the SCARS Institute, we invite you to do your own research on the topics we speak about and publish, Our team investigates the subject being discussed, especially when it comes to understanding the scam victims-survivors experience. You can do Google searches but in many cases, you will have to wade through scientific papers and studies. However, remember that biases and perspectives matter and influence the outcome. Regardless, we encourage you to explore these topics as thoroughly as you can for your own awareness.
Statement About Victim Blaming
Some of our articles discuss various aspects of victims. This is both about better understanding victims (the science of victimology) and their behaviors and psychology. This helps us to educate victims/survivors about why these crimes happened and to not blame themselves, better develop recovery programs, and to help victims avoid scams in the future. At times this may sound like blaming the victim, but it does not blame scam victims, we are simply explaining the hows and whys of the experience victims have.
These articles, about the Psychology of Scams or Victim Psychology – meaning that all humans have psychological or cognitive characteristics in common that can either be exploited or work against us – help us all to understand the unique challenges victims face before, during, and after scams, fraud, or cybercrimes. These sometimes talk about some of the vulnerabilities the scammers exploit. Victims rarely have control of them or are even aware of them, until something like a scam happens and then they can learn how their mind works and how to overcome these mechanisms.
Articles like these help victims and others understand these processes and how to help prevent them from being exploited again or to help them recover more easily by understanding their post-scam behaviors. Learn more about the Psychology of Scams at www.ScamPsychology.org

She is using Faith Williams from Texas now. Same photo as were used in the past. A quick Google search revealed the truth and pointed me to your web site.
can you tell me if the real lia19 is in ghana now i am still talking to her if she is the real one ok
No she is not and never has been. You are being scammed. Please read our 3 Steps Guide for New Victims: https://romancescamsnow.com/dating-scams/scars-3-steps-for-new-scam-victims/
i was scam big time ok but where does this girl live that the scammer get her picture ok
That’s really none of your concern. She is also a crime victim and deserving of her own privacy. Do not try to track her down, that is a crime called cyberstalking,
I was also scammed by someone in Ivory Coast using the name Martine Alicia Depre! Her story is that she is lia Leah and she burnt a warehouse of her manager and went to jail for 3 months. Her boss harassed her as a porn star and thats why she set fire to it. (Great book!) She keeps asking for money with Worldremit MTN phone. Never sent anything! So guys be careful!!
new alias: Marceline Peeters is the skype name used by the person that now is bothering me in skype.
Till now he/she don’t have ask for money yet….I’m still chatting to see when this will happen…
Technically it is not an alias, because the real Lia is not creating fake accounts. It is just another in the billions of fake names scammers create.
Love is not a issue of sex…she is pure…whom they are talking about
May be twins of her…I have met her
Only in dream,imagination…
Don’t know all person why is claiming that she is fraud…
Sir, we don’t know you, but based on your many comments there are issues in accepting that you are involved in a scam. The person in the photo is not the scammer, but her photos are being used by them. However, most of these photos are a decade old.
Wherever you live, we encourage you to see a trauma counselor to help you accept whatever your situation is – your mental health is at risk. Here is a directory of trauma counselors and therapists, but you can also contact your local medical licensing authority for more: https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/therapists/trauma-and-ptsd

is lia19 is she a scammer are not
Not. Her photos have been stolen and used by scammers as it says on our page.
Guys, I came close. I lost only a $25 Netflix Gift card. I am still texting with whoever this person is. I want a way to nail them. This pisses me off so bad. How could anyone do this to another person.
By continuing to communicate with the scammer you are only helping them to be a better scammer.
Fell for her BS too. Sierra is what she went by. I sent her money and did a lot of crap for this scammer. She showed me pics of a passport or whatever from Ghana. Had me mailing stuff to Texas though. It ended a few weeks ago but damn Im still mad!
I meet still vic 1122 on Ashely Madison. She goes by Victoria Dadzie uses Lia19 photos has anyone else meet her. Moved to hangouts
I accepted a Facebook request from a scammer using Luia19’s photos with the name Rosaline Gregoire. She had me move to Skype and held lengthy chat sessions. She assured me she was alone in Ivory Coast,m desperately wanted someone to rescue her, etc. Although I am 71 and happily married, I could out-live my wife by 20 ears. This scammer assured me my age didn’t matter to her, she wanted to spend her life by my side, and would wait as long as necessary so we could be together. The money requests were small at first ($150 for her connection fee so she could still talk to me, a dress, a TV for her grandmother, etc.). Always to be sent via Western Union to her name in Ivory Coast. Then unusually insistent that I complete the transfers. I consulted an online psychic who told me she was misrepresenting facts and to break off immediately. I unfriended her on Facebook & Skype with a goodbye wishing her well. A friend (Anna Filet) emailed me via Facebook and Skype, telling me how much Rosaline loved and missed me. I missed her compliments and went back to her. She eventually tried to convince me she needed rent money or she and her grandmother would be out on the street. Again I consulted a different online psychic who told me everything was a lie to get money. I chanced upon a website about Ivory Coast Romance Scammers and chanced across a drivers license with her photo. I eventually discovered the photo was really a nude model (Lia19) living in Arizona (United States). She played me well and got $1-1.5k from me in about 3 months.
we have a report scammer feature in the menu, please use it instead of wasting them in the comments.
