The ending is nothing more than four words: No money No Scammer! It all disappears.

There are many names for this in Chinese: “pig killing plate” or “pig butchering” scams, but either way it is devastating for the victims of this crime.

These forms of fraud are quietly invading all of our lives!

Sadly after the “pig” was killed (the victim was scammed) – the victims will not even know where the butcher is.

Now listen to the editor’s case

Uncover the Pig Butchering Scams or “pig killing plate” behind online dating!

Case details:

On June 24, 2020, Liu reported that he knew a man claiming to be Wang online, claimed to be a friend with whom he was talking to, and was then induced by the other party to be taken into a gambling scam.

Add friends to shush and ask Nuan to establish a romantic relationship

Attention!

Pig farmers must also have these conditions

“Handsome! Gentle! Considerate! Can coax!”

Liu is more than Chinese New Year’s Eve years old, single because of divorce, she has been looking for a partner, she met a male friend on a blind date website, who claimed to be a senior executive of a company, with better economic conditions, specializing in data work, and will soon travel to Shenzhen.

After several days of online communication, Liu found that this person not only has excellent conditions in all aspects, but also is very gentle and considerate, from time to time will shush Liu through WeChat, warm and careful, under the other party’s “love” offensive, Liu gradually let go of his guard against the man, and quickly established a romantic relationship.

In addition to caring for Liu’s life, the man was also bent on taking Liu on the “road to riches”. In the subsequent chat process, the man said that there was a loophole in a gambling platform, and he could make money by using this loophole, but he was inconvenient to operate, and wanted Liu to help operate online, and after several times, Liu found that he could indeed make money.

Liars hunt with “love” and “bread”

At first, Liu just invested 10,000 yuan with the mentality of trying, and soon obtained more than 17,000 yuan in income and successfully withdrew cash. Under the temptation of interests and the encouragement of “boyfriend”, Liu began to invest a large amount of money into the platform, a total of 150,000 yuan, with the increase of investment funds, Liu made more and more profits on the platform, but has not been able to withdraw cash, and finally the platform blocked his account on the grounds that Liu was suspected of illegal arbitrage, Liu immediately contacted the man on WeChat, found that he had been “blocked” by the other party, and Liu who suddenly woke up called the police.

▲ The victim was blocked

The people’s police who handled the case of the gang went to many provinces to deal with the case

“Be sure to catch all the scammers!”

After receiving the alarm, the Qinshui police immediately launched an investigation of the case, used the big data platform to carry out in-depth analysis of the relevant information involved in the case, simultaneously attacked difficult problems online and offline, locked the scope of the criminal suspect’s activities, successively traveled to Liaoning and Heilongjiang to carry out investigation work, and successfully locked the criminal suspect and the vehicle involved with the strong cooperation of the local police.

On September 9, 2020, after accurate research and careful deployment, the police who handled the case arrested all six suspects who were carrying out the “pig killing plate” fraud in an apartment in Harbin.

At present, the Qinshui police are digging deep into the facts of the case, carrying out in-depth research and judgment, and striving for greater results.

The Pig Butchering Scams/Pig Killing Plate Routine Only Takes Three Steps To Deceive A Victim

NO.1: “Pigs” are lonely

Will look for lonely “pigs” on major websites and then chat and talk with them every day, you need to be patient and cultivate feelings little by little.

NO.2: Pigsty

Use social platforms to let the lonely “pigs” enter the pen. Shushing the cold and asking warmly, the “pig” began to rejoice that he had finally met the right person.

NO.3: “Pig breeding” after relationship establishment “Pig killing” after fattening

Under the warm and meticulous care, slowly let the “pig” fatten. “Pig” also began to rejoice that he had finally met the right person and established a relationship.

After finally gaining the trust of the “pig”, and then killing the “pig” fiercely

How To Prevent It?

➤ The online world is virtual, and it is difficult to distinguish whether the other party is “Bai Fumei”, “Gao Fu Shuai” or “Wei Mei Ray”, and I hope that the general public will establish a correct view of marriage and love.

白富美 [bai fu mei] Baifumei are women with fair complexion, richness, and beauty (the term is a literal combination of the three attributes), basically a female version of Gaofushuai.

高富帥 [gāo fù shuài] “Mr Perfect” (i.e. tall, rich and handsome) (Internet slang)

唯美 [wéi měi] aesthetics – pleasing/pretty

➤ Receiving friends claiming to be “investment experts” and “investment platform staff” and other plus friends to pull you into stocks, virtual currency and other platforms to transfer investment is a fraud.

➤ Online gambling is suspected of breaking the law and committing crimes. Please keep a clear head, “bull market” and “micro-investment and high income” are all scams designed by criminals, and the “stock speculation group” and “virtual currency investment group” are all fraudsters except for the victims.

➤ “Don’t believe”: Online dating needs to be cautious, do not trust netizens, and do not believe in investment and money lies such as “steady profit without loss” and “low cost, high return”. “Don’t believe it”, online dating needs to be cautious, do not believe netizens, and do not believe in investment and profit lies such as “steady profit without loss” and “low cost, high return”.

➤ “No greed”: Refuse to gamble, refuse the temptation of high-reward investment, remember that there will be no pie in the sky, and you will be deceived if you have greed.

➤ “Do not transfer”: Do not transfer money to unfamiliar accounts, and be cautious when transferring money to acquaintances, and communicate and inquire more with relatives and friends around you to prevent falling into the “trap”.

Reminder

The public security agencies remind: The broad masses of the people should be vigilant, enhance their awareness of preventing deception, recognize deception, when you encounter various emergencies that require transfers, do not easily transfer money to strangers, and promptly report to the public security agency for help.

A Note About Labeling!

We often use the term ‘scam victim’ in our articles, but this is a convenience to help those searching for information in search engines like Google. It is just a convenience and has no deeper meaning. If you have come through such an experience, YOU are a Survivor! It was not your fault. You are not alone! Axios!

A Question of Trust

At the SCARS Institute, we invite you to do your own research on the topics we speak about and publish, Our team investigates the subject being discussed, especially when it comes to understanding the scam victims-survivors experience. You can do Google searches but in many cases, you will have to wade through scientific papers and studies. However, remember that biases and perspectives matter and influence the outcome. Regardless, we encourage you to explore these topics as thoroughly as you can for your own awareness.

Statement About Victim Blaming

Some of our articles discuss various aspects of victims. This is both about better understanding victims (the science of victimology) and their behaviors and psychology. This helps us to educate victims/survivors about why these crimes happened and to not blame themselves, better develop recovery programs, and to help victims avoid scams in the future. At times this may sound like blaming the victim, but it does not blame scam victims, we are simply explaining the hows and whys of the experience victims have.

These articles, about the Psychology of Scams or Victim Psychology – meaning that all humans have psychological or cognitive characteristics in common that can either be exploited or work against us – help us all to understand the unique challenges victims face before, during, and after scams, fraud, or cybercrimes. These sometimes talk about some of the vulnerabilities the scammers exploit. Victims rarely have control of them or are even aware of them, until something like a scam happens and then they can learn how their mind works and how to overcome these mechanisms.

Articles like these help victims and others understand these processes and how to help prevent them from being exploited again or to help them recover more easily by understanding their post-scam behaviors. Learn more about the Psychology of Scams at www.ScamPsychology.org
