FAQ: How Do You Properly Report Scammers?
It is essential that law enforcement knows about scams & scammers, even though there is nothing (in most cases) that they can do.
Always report scams involving money lost or where you received money to:
- Local Police – ask them to take an “informational” police report – say you need it for your insurance
- Your National Police or FBI (www.IC3.gov)
- The Scars Worldwide Reporting Network HERE or on www.Anyscam.com
This helps your government understand the problem, and allows law enforcement to add scammers on watch lists worldwide.

A Note About Labeling!
We often use the term ‘scam victim’ in our articles, but this is a convenience to help those searching for information in search engines like Google. It is just a convenience and has no deeper meaning. If you have come through such an experience, YOU are a Survivor! It was not your fault. You are not alone! Axios!
A Question of Trust
At the SCARS Institute, we invite you to do your own research on the topics we speak about and publish, Our team investigates the subject being discussed, especially when it comes to understanding the scam victims-survivors experience. You can do Google searches but in many cases, you will have to wade through scientific papers and studies. However, remember that biases and perspectives matter and influence the outcome. Regardless, we encourage you to explore these topics as thoroughly as you can for your own awareness.
Statement About Victim Blaming
Some of our articles discuss various aspects of victims. This is both about better understanding victims (the science of victimology) and their behaviors and psychology. This helps us to educate victims/survivors about why these crimes happened and to not blame themselves, better develop recovery programs, and to help victims avoid scams in the future. At times this may sound like blaming the victim, but it does not blame scam victims, we are simply explaining the hows and whys of the experience victims have.
These articles, about the Psychology of Scams or Victim Psychology – meaning that all humans have psychological or cognitive characteristics in common that can either be exploited or work against us – help us all to understand the unique challenges victims face before, during, and after scams, fraud, or cybercrimes. These sometimes talk about some of the vulnerabilities the scammers exploit. Victims rarely have control of them or are even aware of them, until something like a scam happens and then they can learn how their mind works and how to overcome these mechanisms.
Articles like these help victims and others understand these processes and how to help prevent them from being exploited again or to help them recover more easily by understanding their post-scam behaviors. Learn more about the Psychology of Scams at www.ScamPsychology.org

WHEN HE CONTACTED ME BACK IN 2021-2020? HE WENT BY SGT CHARLES BECKER THEN HE DISAPPEARED AND I MOVED ON, THEN IN THE END OF 2024 AND BEGINNING OF 2025 HE CONTACTS ME AGAIN AND TELLS ME HE WAS IN A COMA FOR 13 MONTHS (156) DAYS HE HAD LOST MY CONTACT INFO BUT FOUND ME AGAIN, HE ASKED ME IF I WAS SINGLE AND I TOLD HIM NO I AM WITH SOMEONE ELSE. BUT THEN A WEEK OR SO HIS RELATIVE CONTACTED ME AND TOLD ME THAT CHARLES WAS SICK YET AGAIN??? AND HE ASLED FOR MY NUMBER I DON’T GIVE OUT MY CELL
Yes, almost scammed by this guy, or whoever is using his photo. Said he was in the NDIS or some investigative branch. Very smooth and sexy operator. 2 names he used to receive funds: Deleih Zamani, and April L Clements in Australia. Luckily my bank smelled a rat and stopped the transaction. I feel rather silly now, but hope no-one else is hurt by it or loses their money.
To help others report the scammers on http://www.Anyscam.com
I see you call it African Romance Scammers, but I feel for some reason that this guy might have been Indian, maybe because of the Zamani name, which is Indian. I never actually spoke to him to get any accent, but his terminology was American. I have reported it to Anyscam.com.
Yes, there are vast numbers of Indians, and in fact, romance scammers from countries around the world. Each scammer country has slightly different styles and approaches. So yes it is possible that an Indian fraudster was using the same photos as Africans.
James asked me for 200. Cards so he can come home, swears to God he is real. Ya right he sent me pictures but they are only on Hang outs, so I don’t know how to get them on the scammer sight !! He always says pls Babe I swear to God I’m real .. What every after I seem this site I know he isn’t real. So don’t be scammed my his sweet words
It is great that you discovered this before it went on any longer. Please report him on our network at http://www.Anyscam.com
Hi I’ve been contacted by David Michael Becker us army he wanted me to pay for internet so he could speak to me on chat not Facebook he know wants me to pay nearly £6,000 to get him home to me now today he asks me for mobile phone he sent me pictures but it’s pictures that’s on this scam site he is really believable telling me how much he loves me I just happened to Google the name glad I did he also said he had a son in military school in Manchester he even got this person to email to ask for money for good I just don’t like this setup he is so charming honestly he has me taken in I’m hoping it’s not a scam
So, if he gave you a better set up you would believe him, correct?
Relationship scams are based upon luring you in, grooming, and manipulating you so that you want to believe. You need to believe. But it is all just lies. None of it is real or true.
So now that you have been told the truth, you have to make a decision to live in the fairy tale castle in this fantasy that will destroy you, or break it off now and stop talking to strangers online.
You are the victim of a scam. It is time to accept that. Please read our 3 Steps for new Scam Victims and do the steps! https://romancescamsnow.com/dating-scams/scars-3-steps-for-new-scam-victims/
I knee something was fishy about Mr David Becker! glad i googled and found this site. He was so desperate to get me off Facebook and chat on hangouts quickly. Now i know why. Thank y’all for the confirmation. But i did know something wasn’t right
I was also scammed by this person claiming to be David Becker , and wanted to go to Hangouts right away ! I figured out when I see his picture on here !!!!
Picture of the photo I know I’m as Robert Becker. Very smooth talkin very polite until you make him angry. Always wanting to send money via check or drop money into my checking account. When was Panera Bread when was Apollo LLC company. Neither one of them was real. Actually sent them to my house.
Be sure that you report this to your local police.
I see two pics here yet the person has talked to me and texted me on the phone. He told me his name is Richard a Becker. Should I assume I am being scammed too???
Yes, you are being scammed. The photos being here is all the proof you need. So please report the details on http://www.Anyscam.com and then block them. Also, stop talking to strangers online, they are almost always going to be scammers.
I sebe two pics herec yet the person has talked to me And texted mě on the phone And Facebook and Hangouts PHONE.He told mě his name Is James Becker Should i assume i am being scemmed too ???I know it from the foto you can show it to me via email.Thank you
Yes, you should assume you are being scammed. Recognizing scammers is a skill that most people do not have. Instead, avoid connecting with strangers unless you know them in the real world. ANYONE that contacts you out of the blue is going to be a scammer.
can you show a picture of stolen I Ds so we can identify by their picture. I know you shoe some but why not each one that is a stolen one and that could get some one off or keep them from getting started with a scammer
There are more than ONE BILLION fake identities in use. You have to learn to recognize scammers by what they do not by their face. Always assume a stranger is a scammer, and stop talking to strangers online that contact you.
However, you will find endless galleries of faces, including fake IDs here on our site.
They are two dfferent men on this pics
Why they are two differents pics for the same name ?
What do you mean different pics?
because there are two differents men on pics
We have edited the page to make it clearer that there are two.
