A Note About Labeling!
We often use the term ‘scam victim’ in our articles, but this is a convenience to help those searching for information in search engines like Google. It is just a convenience and has no deeper meaning. If you have come through such an experience, YOU are a Survivor! It was not your fault. You are not alone! Axios!
A Question of Trust
At the SCARS Institute, we invite you to do your own research on the topics we speak about and publish, Our team investigates the subject being discussed, especially when it comes to understanding the scam victims-survivors experience. You can do Google searches but in many cases, you will have to wade through scientific papers and studies. However, remember that biases and perspectives matter and influence the outcome. Regardless, we encourage you to explore these topics as thoroughly as you can for your own awareness.

Statement About Victim Blaming
Some of our articles discuss various aspects of victims. This is both about better understanding victims (the science of victimology) and their behaviors and psychology. This helps us to educate victims/survivors about why these crimes happened and to not blame themselves, better develop recovery programs, and to help victims avoid scams in the future. At times this may sound like blaming the victim, but it does not blame scam victims, we are simply explaining the hows and whys of the experience victims have.
These articles, about the Psychology of Scams or Victim Psychology – meaning that all humans have psychological or cognitive characteristics in common that can either be exploited or work against us – help us all to understand the unique challenges victims face before, during, and after scams, fraud, or cybercrimes. These sometimes talk about some of the vulnerabilities the scammers exploit. Victims rarely have control of them or are even aware of them, until something like a scam happens and then they can learn how their mind works and how to overcome these mechanisms.
Articles like these help victims and others understand these processes and how to help prevent them from being exploited again or to help them recover more easily by understanding their post-scam behaviors. Learn more about the Psychology of Scams at www.ScamPsychology.org

I’ve unfortunately been scammed. Many failed attempts for her to visit me that I sent her money for plane tickets and then I paid for hospital costs. She kept saying she was due an inheritance which I now know to be untrue.
Sent me driving license and passport from Denmark but I now know it was all fake and a scam.
Using the email Agnesriggs72@gmail.com
We are sorry to hear that John.
Make sure that you get the help you need. Please look here: https://romancescamsnow.com/dating-scams/scam-victim-trauma-counseling-therapy-resources/
I have been talking to Agnes RIggs (aka Corin RIggs) since 30 August 2022. She is currently negotiating the sale of her father’s property in Texas, USA, and is close to finalizing things. The email address that she uses is agnesriggs72@gmail.com. I am currently talking to her about vising me in England. Please email me so that we can talk things through as I need to know your experiences. Thank you, Cheers Graham
You are being scammed. Please accept this.
Yes you are definitely being scammed Graham…. The real Corrin Riggs is not single and does not need any money. The stories of inheritance and fathers property and travelling to Denmark and Accra in Ghana are all fake stories. These photo’s and video are over 10 years old. I even video chatted with her and I thought that proved she was real, but that was a clever scam using technology. I sent her money through Paypal and my nephew showed me the name of the person it actually went to which was Eman Sinare – this we believe is the scammer.

Thank you so much John. I sent money to Eman Sinare who Agnes told me was a nurse working in the hospital where she was being treated. I also video called with her 3 times. Each time a strange woman appeared with a pierced tongue. I did a comparison of her face and proved conclusively that it wasn’t Agnes. I challenged Agnes who said that her Skype account had been hacked. She was also apparently ill with a kidney disease and needed a kidney transplant. I too got a photo of her passport and driving licence issued by Denmark. I have extensive documentation about her Inheritance and documents approved by a court in Texas. They all look very convincing. So if it is a scam and I am thinking that way it is very sophisticated. I also asked her to come and see me in England. She initially refused but yesterday said that she would come.
Graham, you sound like a competent person, but there is no question that this is a scam. If you still have trouble accepting that then we recommend counseling to help you with the underlying issues of potential past traumas and cognitive biases preventing you from recognizing this crime. Nothing that you have said relates to the real person. We wish you well.

Graham it’s a scam. Everyone you talk to online is a scam – that’s what I’ve come to realise. It’s a sophisticated gang of people who pass on your contact details and get you with different aliases. Block anyone who’s asked you for money now, change your email address and phone number. That’s the only way to get rid of them. If you still get contacted not responding and blocking works best.

She contacted me on Twitter. Says her name is Corin. Retired model living in Las Vegas. She wanted to switch to Whatsapp. She also told me that she doesn’t trust me because I don’t have a profile picture on my Twitter account. She claims to be a lingerie designer and sells her items online, sent me pictures of her designs and actual lingerie, nobody in them though. Her area code is in Florida. Phone number 239-328-7468. She hasn’t asked for anything yet, nor is she claiming poverty. She does want to call me and have a video chat so that she knows I’m real. I’m pretty sure that if I go through with the video call, her side will be really blurry or really hard to hearI’m not falling for this scam because I know that a beautiful woman like that wouldn’t even look at me even if there was nothing else to look at.
Jeff, this is a scam. Remember that the tech now is so good that a video can be created in real-time that appears flawless. The photos we display are a decade old. Cut “her”loose and don’t waste your time, this is all a manipulative technique.
I just got contacted by someone on Skype using the name Ellen Smith. Ignored her messages at first then she sent me a skype call. I accepted, saw I didn’t know the person, didn’t tell me who she was and hung up. Later that day, I decided to try and get more info from her to try and help you out. She says she was from Rome and was now with her grand parents in West Africa. She kept wanting to videocall. I accepted her call a second time to see her in another completely different location, looking different too. I never activated my camera and if ever you get a call, you shouldn’t either!
Why is that you ask? Because my impression is that they convince people (boys and girls) to call, they record parts of that conversation, and they play that to someone else to “show” they’re real.
I been talking to a girl in Ghana. She said her name is amber maccline. She is also using corin riggs photo. She has sent me several of them. When i search the web it always come up as corin riggs. She did a video chat that i ask for. But it was blurry and i couldn’t tell for sure. I am still talking to her but im not going to send her any money.
Why waste time talking to someone that you know is a scammer? All you are doing is helping them become better at what they do! By the way, it is probably NOT a woman, but a team of men.
She is using the name Ruth Osei. Supposedly in Ghana with her grandma. Don’t know if it is same person or different people.
He is chatting with me now. Her name is vic.yanty..I am a South Korean and she is said to live in Ghana with her mother. She is continuously asking for $100 for the Internet. I refused.

I am Corin Riggs and I know you are all being scammed :)
I am not single or looking to date, nor do I need money. I am financially doing quite well. I definitely do not live outside of the USA and never will.
Sorry to hear you all fell into these scammers traps! The best thing you can do to help me fight the scammers using my photos is to report them to the websites they are on, to make them aware that these are fake accounts. I would really appreciate it!
Thank you!
