FAQ: How Do You Properly Report Scammers?
It is essential that law enforcement knows about scams & scammers, even though there is nothing (in most cases) that they can do.
Always report scams involving money lost or where you received money to:
- Local Police – ask them to take an “informational” police report – say you need it for your insurance
- Your National Police or FBI (www.IC3.gov)
- The Scars Worldwide Reporting Network HERE or on www.Anyscam.com
This helps your government understand the problem, and allows law enforcement to add scammers on watch lists worldwide.

When I spotted someone, obviously African, using my sons name, reversing first and last name, I did some searching on my own and found him on fb under five different names. I believe my son was romance scammed by someone using Danielle Delaunay pics. He has been texting my son for months convincing him this woman loves him and is coming to US to be with him. I believe he has sent money at least two times I found the addresses). Don’t know if I have convinced him he was scammed and wonder with this name use is something more going to happen “she already pulled the accident on the way to arprt and sick grandmotherexcuse why “she” hasn’t made it here yet.
Unfortunately, just using names is hard to combat, if it includes photos then there are more options, but in the end it comes down to reporting them. Also take a look at our Family Guides in the middle of our home page.
