There is definitely not one way to grieve. The author of the TED talk (I copied and pasted the above reference into another screen to read. Tried to watch the actual talk, but technical issues on their end abruptly stopped the stream.) had some great thoughts on moving forward, but still carrying the burden of grief with us. I do not disagree, but time somehow does lessen the terrible burden we feel at our loss. I have lost my father when I was a young mom. I grieved terribly for that loss. I feel so ashamed to admit that the loss of my perceived scammers felt nearly if not equal to that loss. And then the guilt washes over me for feeling that way. Thank you for providing these talks and articles to help me get a better picture of my own feelings of loss.
If I am being honest, I don’t feel much grief for my scammer (criminals). I’ve come to accept that it was all a deceitful business transaction for financial gain.
Grief will come in its own way and its own time. It is not a linear process either.
When feeling grief for a lost loved one I try to feel joy for the time we did have together (this does not apply to my PBS).
