For more than twelve years, scam victims and volunteers reported the phone numbers, email addresses, names, and profiles that scammers used against them on AnyScam.com. That work now lives here, as the SCARS Institute AnyScam Database, rebuilt to make it easier to search, safer to use, and open to new reports.
Before you trust someone you met online, search for their phone number, email address, name, or profile link. You’ll see whether it has been reported to SCARS Institute, how often, and when. You can also read real messages that scammers have sent, with victims’ details removed, so you can learn to recognize their words before they reach you.

This scammer originally contacted me on Skype in early April. She claimed she had been "stuck" in Ghana since January 2020 because of the Covid 19 pandemic. Originally, a South African, she said she had lived in London UK for five years before travelling to Ghana on the advice of her "lawyer" (Ernest Ofie). She claimed her late father, Bismark Opoku, had owned 320 acres of farm land in Ghana, worth almost £2million sterling. She needed to transfer ownership of the land to herself before she could sell it. During the course of the next six months, Esther Opoku and her lawyer persuaded me to send them about £70,000 sterling to help them pay outstanding taxes on the land, court fees, and to obtain various legal documents relating to the land. When I researched on Google the photos she had sent me, I found that in fact they were of a former porn star, Danielle Delaunay, an American. Esther…
