Fictitious Refunds — Fictitious refunds are payments issued or requested for returns, purchases, or adjustments that do not genuinely exist. The scheme can involve fabricated transactions, false documents, or misuse of employee access to refund systems. Criminals direct the resulting money to themselves or associated recipients.
