Day Zero — Day zero, more commonly called zero-day, describes a vulnerability exploited before an effective fix is available to those affected. Attackers take advantage of the gap between the weakness’s discovery or exploitation and adequate remediation. Such attacks can be difficult to address because ordinary patching may not yet resolve the underlying problem.
