AnyScam™ Scam Search & Reporting

Twelve Years of Data

For more than twelve years, scam victims and volunteers reported the phone numbers, email addresses, names, and profiles that scammers used against them on AnyScam.com. That work now lives here, as the SCARS Institute AnyScam Database, rebuilt to make it easier to search, safer to use, and open to new reports.

Before you trust someone you met online, search for their phone number, email address, name, or profile link. You’ll see whether it has been reported to SCARS Institute, how often, and when. You can also read real messages that scammers have sent, with victims’ details removed, so you can learn to recognize their words before they reach you.

Help Protect Others

If a scammer contacted you, report their profile link, email address, or phone number. SCARS Institute staff review every report before it appears in the database.

Please keep in mind that a listing is a report, not proof. Scammers steal real people’s names and photos, and phone numbers pass from one owner to the next, so an innocent person can appear here. If something listed here belongs to you and is listed in error, use the removal request form at the bottom of this page, and we’ll review it. And if nothing turns up in your search, that doesn’t mean someone is safe: scammers change their numbers, addresses, and names constantly.

I submitted a report earlier today about a scammer purporting to be Judith Reinert using photos of Danielle Delaunay. In addition to what I sent earlier, they were trying to get an apparent inheritance from Judith Reinert's late father in England and claimed the taxes of $400,000. had to be prepaid to get the trust fund totaling $4 million pounds. I did not bite, however, they sent a packet of checks to me from Chase Bank with my wife's name on the checks. I was directed to make out a check payable to her, make the check out in the amount of $9150.00, sign it and make it payable to myself with her endorsement on the back of the check. The check was the deposited in my savings account and a day or two later wanted $5000.00 cash withdrawn and sent to RANSFORD MOAKO at ---ADDRESS REDACTED--- Apt. #1 in Southbridge, MA 01550. I sent the $5000.00 cash as directed and a day or two after that learned the check had insufficient funds and I was cheated out of $5000.00. I checked with Chase Bank and they acknowledged that an account did exist with that account number but was listed to another person by the name of Kenneth. They could not tell me the last name of the person due to confidentiality and current laws. The account that was registered to Kenneth had the same account number on those checks sent to me with my wife's name on them. It makes me wonder if there is someone working on the inside of Chase with these crooks issuing a number that was already assigned. Chase said any investigation would need to be investigated by my financial institution and they in turn suggested I file a police report. I was not allowed to file a report on behalf of my wife and as a result of this whole incident she has left me and moved in with our daughter. I know this whole scenario sounds confusing and it is. Very well planned out and preys upon the victim's naivete, lack of computer knowledge and general ignorance of how things like this are processed. The telephone number they used was from Ghana and is: ---REDACTED---. Thanks for your attention, I hope there is something that you might track down on these culprits and see that they might be brought to justice. They initially were 'fishing' for unsuspecting victims via Skype and then pursue to 'play' them.
