The SCARS Institute Encyclopedia of Scams

Twelve Years of Data
For more than twelve years, scam victims and volunteers reported the phone numbers, email addresses, names, and profiles that scammers used against them on AnyScam.com. That work now lives here, as the SCARS Institute AnyScam Database, rebuilt to make it easier to search, safer to use, and open to new reports.
Before you trust someone you met online, search for their phone number, email address, name, or profile link. You’ll see whether it has been reported to SCARS Institute, how often, and when. You can also read real messages that scammers have sent, with victims’ details removed, so you can learn to recognize their words before they reach you.
Help Protect Others
If a scammer contacted you, report their profile link, email address, or phone number. SCARS Institute staff review every report before it appears in the database.
Please keep in mind that a listing is a report, not proof. Scammers steal real people’s names and photos, and phone numbers pass from one owner to the next, so an innocent person can appear here. If something listed here belongs to you and is listed in error, use the removal request form at the bottom of this page, and we’ll review it. And if nothing turns up in your search, that doesn’t mean someone is safe: scammers change their numbers, addresses, and names constantly.

December 2025 — After receiving $1,040 specifically for an apartment: "I got sick and paid hospital bills with some of the money. The money has been used. You can't live with us. There's no accommodation for you. Find temporary accommodation before you come."
December 2025 — When asked for breakdown of how the money was spent: "You're taking me to court aren't you?"
January 2026 — When asked for refund: "Go get a job 🤷♀️"
She also repeatedly used "get well" / "heal" type messages to gaslight me after refusing to return the money — framing my legitimate distress as a personal psychological problem rather than the consequence of her fraud.

On or around February 3, I was in contact with Jarrett Duren regarding securing an apartment. He represented himself as working with a business partner and instructed me to send payments toward a down payment for the apartment.
I sent a total of approximately $8,200, including a payment of $2,100 through Cash App to an account he stated belonged to his business partner. These funds were represented as part of the required payment to secure the apartment.
The transaction also involved a notary (Beverly Dobere), which made the agreement appear legitimate and influenced my decision to proceed with payment.
However, the apartment was never provided. After repeated attempts to resolve the matter, I requested a full refund. While there has been some communication, the funds have not been returned, and re…

At this time, I believe I was misled into sending money

I never wanted to hurt you, but I understand that by not being completely upfront, l've done exactly that. You're right; a relationship should be built on trust, mutual respect, and honesty, and I haven't always lived up to that in the way you deserve but I do respect you. It was never about thinking you couldn't handle things, but I see now that giving you the choice is what really matters. You should always have the option to be fully involved or not. I understand that more clearly now. I appreciate your patience too and for sticking with me through everything. I'm willing to share everything with you, and I want to try to move forward with complete honesty. I want to be with you more than anything
I think I need total around 15k before going to Japan for smuggler and ambassy and living there for a few month

The Family Place is a small commercial-residential complex with suites upstairs and a shop downstairs, which could be used as a restaurant. However, it's only half-finished, and completing all the necessary work would likely cost up to $20k
