# Romance Scam Simulator

A SCARS Institute text adventure · RomanceScamsNOW.com

## Before You Begin

This is a text adventure, in the spirit of the classic computer games. Each scene tells you what is happening, and you choose what to do from a list of answers. There is nothing to type and no time limit, so take each step at your own pace.

The story follows the real path of a romance scam, from the first message to the moment the truth comes out. Resist it, give in to it, or do some of each, and see where each choice leads. Every playthrough draws a different story.

**A note for survivors.** If you have lived through a romance scam, parts of this story will feel familiar. You are free to stop at any time. Nothing here is about blame: the people who run these scams are skilled criminals who deceive good people every day.

This simulator saves nothing and sends nothing. It runs entirely in your browser.
