## Support Groups

Because of the nature of online fraud, SCARS™ provides real support groups comprised of other scam victims working together to overcome their experiences and recover their lives. We provide these online inside [Facebook](https://www.facebook.com/groups/SCARS.Avoidance.Information.Public.Group/) and on the [Web](https://www.scamvictimsupport.org/) since this provides a viable framework and a degree of protection against scammers.

- Our dedicated [Scam Victims' Assistance & Support Website](https://www.scamvictimsupport.org/) is for real support & recovery away from the insanity of social media.
- Each of these screens every group member for security.

Our staff and superb volunteers from around the world assist group members to begin the process of recovery, help them through their crisis, and put them on the road to full recovery. While it is almost impossible to recover your money or get the scammer arrested quickly, we focus on your health and wellbeing.

Our web-based support group is about your recovery from the trauma of the scam, not about hating scammers, not about rage, and not about getting revenge.

Our web-based support group is based upon solid recovery models to help you through one of the most traumatic experiences in your life.

Our processes and operation are compliant with our [Code of Conduct](https://againstscams.org/members-professional-code-of-conduct/) and standards for Scam Victim Assistance. SCARS is also registered with the United States Department of Homeland Security, Office for Victim’s of Crime, and others as a formal Crime Victim’s Assistance Provider. We are also a member of the National Organization for Victims' Assistance and the National Crime Prevention Association, as well as other professional standards bodies worldwide.

To request to be a part of one of our Scam Victim’s Support Groups just visit the group and ask to join. For everyone's safety, it is important that we make sure there are no scammers or haters that enter our groups.

We understand the extreme difficulty that you are experiencing, we are also victims – but more importantly, we are professionals trained in many related professions, and have more nearly 30 years of experience with online scams.
