It’s Tax Time Again – That Means It Is Time For Tax & Government Impersonators!
During the Tax Season, government impersonators will be calling everyone they can, claiming that you owe back taxes, penalties or fines, or interest.
They will claim that if you do not pay it that second that you could go to jail or worse! Just remember, by law, the government has to contact you first by postal mail.
So if you get a call, hang up and report it to the FTCFTC The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is an independent agency of the United States government whose principal mission is the enforcement of civil (non-criminal) U.S. antitrust law and the promotion of consumer protection. The FTC can also act as a clearinghouse for criminal reports sent to other agencies for investigation and prosecution. To learn more visit www.FTC.gov or to report fraud visit ReportFraud.FTC.gov immediately.
