A SCARS Scam Victim Intervention for "Elliott"

At the request of Elliott's family, the SCARS Managing Director Dr. Tim McGuinness intervened to help him break free of the scam that he was still involved with.

Doing an intervention is never easy but the alternative is to allow the victim to continue to be victimized by scammers. After 2 & 1/2 years in the fake relationship, it was going to be hard to come out of it.

Men and women are quite different in the way they are approached and how they respond. The approach with women is more emotional and empathetic, but for men, it needs to be much more blunt and factual.

It is quite different when a victim already realizes and accepts that they are the victim of a crime, but in these cases, the victims have not come to that acceptance, so it is necessary to present more forcefully to get them to that point. Being able to convince someone that the love of their life is fak in just an hour is no small thing.

We hope this video gives families one more tool they can use to help victims still trapped in their denial.
