Sometimes the trauma and pain is unbearable. Your thoughts turn to a darker place, and you feel like nothing and no one can help you. You have lost so much, and the future is just a black hole.

You are not alone.

RSN & SCARS do not YET have the resources to provide phone support, BUT we encourage you to call:

=== 1-800-273-8255 ===

This Lifeline can help you in those times of extreme crisis when you need more than just a Facebook page or group.

The Lifeline provides 24/7, free and confidential support for people in distress, prevention and crisis resources for you or your loved ones, and best practices for professionals.

As a member of NOVA, SCARS (and RSN) is affiliated with an expanding network of assistance providers who provide ethical and confidential support in your moment of crisis.

The Lifeline is provided by the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. It is a national network of local crisis centers that provides free and confidential emotional support to people in crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They are committed to improving crisis services and empowering individuals, and helping you over those moment of extrene need.

Even if you are not thinking about suicide, if you just can’t make it all make sense and you are swirling down a black hole of anxiety and depression, you should call them.

Right now, they do not know very much about scam victims, so don’t ask them if her/sher was a scammer – they won’t know anything about that, but they know how to help YOU.

In time, SCARS will expand our own capability to include a help line, but for now, please call them when you reach that point where there seems to be no future.

It is important that you tell them you were referred by SCARS (the Society of Citizens Against Romance Scams) for tracking and training purposes.

PLEASE SHARE THIS POST IN EVERY ANTI-SCAM PAGE OR GROUP YOU MAY BE A MEMBER OF BECAUSE AT LEAST 5 PEOPLE A DAY TAKE THEIR LIFE BECAUSE OF ROMANCE SCAMS.

If you are NOT in North America, your country probably has a Crisis Hotline. Please look online for it or call your local hospital and ask them.

If you have reasoned that low point where all is black, call them:
