Romance Scams Now™ Goes Forward With Law Suits Against Internet Trolls

Updated: March 2, 2020

SCARS EDITOR’S NOTE: THIS ARTICLE WAS PUBLISHED IN JANUARY 2017 BEFORE RSN / ROMANCE SCAMS NOW WAS ACQUIRED BY SCARS – WHICH IS WHY YOU DO NOT SEE THE APPROPRIATE REFERENCES. IN THE TWO YEARS SINCE THIS PERIOD OF CONFLICT SCARS HAS CONTINUOUSLY HAD TO DEFEND ITSELF FROM HATERS AND TROLLS, NOT TO MENTION SOCIAL MEDIA GIANT FACEBOOK. AS LONG AS THERE ARE VICTIMS WHO ALLOW HATE TO RULE THEIR LIVES THESE CONFLICTS WILL CONTINUE.

RSN Defamed

A year ago we tried a crowdfunding campaign to increase our staffing. It was not successful, but someone went absolutely nuts over it and began attacking us constantly. It really comes down to them being a one-man group with no real credentials and it’s really professional (or the lack thereof) jealousy.

Ethics Play A Big Role In What We Do, But Not Everyone Cares – They Blow Through The Anti-Scam World As Though They Own It And All The Victims Are Just Their Property

We have no secrets, and who and what we are and who is in and behind our organization is public record. Most anti-scam groups hide their identities, have no address or other identifying information, and are nothing more than a person or two in their bedroom or kitchen. Some pretend to be large organizations and publish addresses and phone numbers but are still shams hiding in plain sight. Most anti-scam groups use fake names to hide their identities – they claim that they do this because they are afraid of scammers – but scammers are no real threat. Some aliases are understandable when hunting for scammers, but not in the operation of a group communicating with victims. We believe in transparency, and this both scares and angers other groups who are not very ethical or honest.

And Of Course, There Is The Financial Gain Aspect – Some Secretly Ask Victims For Money

We have never asked a single victim for a cent except in a couple of public fundraising activities for the benefit of victims – we are funded by grants from our parent company and always have been

They also go after SCARS because of our affiliation, because they are effective and recognized by governments around the world. It comes down to a form of Munchausen for some, they don’t want to see real change because their ego or personal power is locked up in a continuous stream of victims. They are only important because victims see them as important, not because of anything they actually do. Since we have been effective, along with those we work with, they feel threatened and therefore attack us – attack our employees individually and partners, and engage in character assassination unchecked. Unfortunately, Facebook does nothing about such behavior.

But In The End, That Is What Courts Are For And Regardless Of Where In The World They Are, U.S. Courts Hold Sway

Until the case is filed, we will not be able to disclose the other parties for risk of defaming them. Once it is FILED we will share who they are and the full details of their actions. We have already filed criminal complaints against one who is residing in the U.K. & Russia who is an especially pathetic Internet Troll who envisions himself a major internet publisher. The charges were filed for criminal fraud here in the State of Florida and with the U.S. FBI, and we will be filing other charges as well.

It Is Sad That This Has To Go In This Direction, But There Are Pathetic People Who Rage Against People Who Make A Difference Because They Cannot

It Really Is That Simple

A. Garcia,
RSN

POSTSCRIPT:

Today RSN is a SCARS asset that supports and provides education to over 6 million victims (as of the date of this update) worldwide and reaches about 100,000 victims per week on Facebook alone. We have taken the ethical high ground since our team’s beginning in 1991, and since the Society of Citizens Against Relationship Scams Inc. was incorporated originally in 2015 as a nonprofit and continuing with our re-incorporation in 2020 under the laws of Florida continuing as a nonprofit.

However, the battles with amateurs & pretenders who claim to be instant experts continue. We will continue to live up to our ethics and standards of transparency regardless of what the haters try to say. We will continue to defend ourselves and by doing so, defend victims everywhere from those that would have you stay trapped in anger, rage, and hate, as they are! How does the old saying go? “Misery Loves Company!” It is so true in the world of scam victims and fake amateur anti-scam groups!

In this case, the matter was tried and RSN prevailed and the case was sealed to allow for other actions. Since criminal charges were involved we cannot disclose anything more about these cases.

Angel Garcia is no longer with SCARS. We appreciate his service in our cause.
