Philippines Gold Diggers – How To Tell

How To Know If You Have A or Scammer

The following comes from , which seems to be an acceptable low-medium risk dating website in the Philippines.

This is good advice for ANY online date, regardless of where they come from!

According to

Avoid Filipina women like the plague who ask for money from you right at the beginning, or offers to give you favours such as flaunting her body at you for money. These Filipina girls are gold diggers & usually also working as bar girls in Manila or Cebu and certainly not one you can trust. Filipina ladies are usually wrongfully portrayed as docile and submissive, yes they do make a great wife or lover but also seek you as the western man to provide for them and give them a loving home in which they feel secure in.

Some questions you may be asking yourself are…..

This is really the trickiest part as I never wanted to believe the beauty I just met may only want me for a better life. She treats me so good so how do I know?

Filipina Women are the smartest and intelligent in the world. That also comes with some disadvantages, because some are also very deceptive and calculating. I really do not enjoy writing this part because it is something that I have had to deal with in the past. I also know I may be hitting some nerves out there and some western men may be confused if their Filipina sweet heart is sincere or not.

Follow these steps and you should not go far wrong in knowing if your woman loves you or your wallet.

Does she often have emergencies coming up and ask for money, playing on your guilt?

Many Filipinas will play the guilt trip with you and tell you sad stories how their house has been flooded or how it is their exams next week for them to graduate but they can no longer afford the fee.

I remember chatting online to the loveliest Filipina girl and getting to think what a catch I had, she already knew how upset I would get from girls asking me for money, so she was extra cunning . One day she was online and shedding many tears saying how her poor nephew was almost dying in the house from whooping cough and he may have pneumonia, but she cannot afford to take him to hospital. I felt so guilty & bad but inside I also wasn’t sure if she was trying to scam me or not. I decided to see what happens next. Then she asked me if only I can just send a few thousand peso? I told her that as we just started to talk and not really in a relationship as yet and I cannot help everyone who ask. She then got upset crying and accusing me of not wanting to support her. The next day her friend emailed me to say this girl is a gold digger & does this for a living and makes money chatting to many western men and scamming them this way!  I was very angry but since then always go with my gut instincts. Good Filipina girls do not ask for money like that so early and if you explain to them money do not grow on trees for you too and she still persist Dump here ASAP.

Alarm bells should start ringing with some signs, especially when greed sets in.

Another Filipina lady friend I had started to ask for a cheap mobile phone for her birthday that was ok I thought as most Filipinas love to text and use their phone.  Then a week later it goes from being a cheap phone to one that will cost $400 and she also was asking me to pay her rent. Look guys the Philippines islands is a third world country and some are desperate but if a girl really wants you, make sure you know she is a  sincere Filipina and do not give in to her request. Pretend you are poor too and have little income or say you have no job yet or work part time. You will soon see if she is a gold digger or not.

Look out for multiple chatters.

Sometimes I would talk to a Filipina woman and then she is so sweet with her words, yet you can see her typing as she is chatting to others, later I found out some of these girls are just cutting and pasting the same thing to another guy and these girls are in an internet career or scamming western guys out of their money.

Test this, make a chat id that’s unknown to her, put in a fake profile and someone else’s picture. Then try to chat with her to see how loyal she is to you. This may sound devious but it will save a lot of heart ache of meeting a Filipina gold digger in the long run.

When should you start to send money to a Filipina if in a relationship and how much?

This is a tough one, because there is no right answer. Personally myself I believe that unless we are married then I am not financially obligated to you, it may sound harsh but in a way this is just a test. If she accepts it I may later on send her a little money just for chat and her phone to text me. Even 2000 peso or $40 will make a big difference to someone in the Philippines who is only earning this a week. Do not overdo it. Agree a budget every month and stick to it

She always seems to ask for extra money and emergencies?

Yes this annoys me at times because im never sure if it is a real problem or just another Filipina gold digger  trying to scam me. The best way I heard to deal with this is say this   “Ok I sent you the budget already, I Can send you extra but you have to deduct it next month from your budget.” She may call you Kuripot (Tight Wad) but one thing Filipinas are not good at is money managing and tell her you have to budget too and she needs to do the same.

Is she being too flirty and talking about sex early on?

Any decent Filipina will never talk about sex or be so flirty with you at the start. They are usually very conservative so if this is the case this should be a red flag right away.

Does she use a web cam with you?

There are many Filipinas who serial chat as I mentioned earlier but another common thing is lady boys known as Baklas in the Philippines. They do not want to risk getting caught out as a man in disguise so will use fake girls pictures in their profile. Always insist to see them on a cam and if they make frequent excuses then you know something is not quite right and you’ve probably found a gold digger.

Try to remember the poverty of the Philippines

When I got married to a Filipina she was already in Canada working and earning her own money, but at times sending up to 80% of her money back home! The family always seemed to be expecting more and more from her and at times they have no idea of how hard we need to work and balance the income and bills. Absolutely make sure if you do send money that a budget is set and if they go over it then they have to deduct that the next month. Many culture clashes and divorces to a Filipina wife may come from this reason. To be honest I struggled with this area a lot until I visited the Philippines Islands and seen how poor they really are. Babies in the street, with no clothes and literally whole families sleeping on cardboard reminds you why so many here depend on their family to send them money. It is a big fact up to a third of the country are now working abroad these are known as overseas foreign workers (OFW)

Keep in Mind that most Filipina women are not gold diggers. If you explain to them you have to work hard too and have many bills to pay and are not rich just because your a foreigner they should accept what you say if they are not a gold digger. Try to understand their situation but never send money to a Filipina girl or chat mate you just started chatting to or not even met yet.

The best idea for a Filipina girl asking for money is to let them know if you do decide to send some money to your Filipina chat mate then you do not want to be obligated as yet but if you get married of course you will provide and care for her as is done in your own culture.

Overall most decent Philippines women will not ask you for money early on knowing you but you will certainly face many request and sad stories that will break your heart from some of these Filipina scammers and gold diggers, if you chat online yahoo or other sites. Just keep your money in your wallet for now and be patient see if the lady wants you or is more interested in your money and what she can get from you.

If you want to visit their website – remember we do not endorse them one way or the other – so always be on guard!

I am and American talking to a FilipinO, yes I’m gay, and I have had my fair share of guys try to scam me. Yes guys do it too! But honestly they were so transparent I can’t believe their scams are successful. I’ve had guys tell me they love me at first site and couldn’t tell me what my degree was in (it’s on my facebook profile the same one that I used to talk to them). They use the dreaded phase ‘I have a problem’ followed by ‘I’m shy’ then a request for money. But the best way to not get scammed is to keep your eyes open and look for the warning signs which are discussed extensively on here. The biggest defense I have is the fact that I don’t send money. I am sending my lover $100 to rent a house and get it ready (as it was my idea instead of me getting a hotel). He may be a scammer as we’ve been talking to just two months but then again we talk for 2-3 hours a day every day for 2 months. That’s a lot of effort to scam and if he does take my money and run well I look at it as a lesson well learned. You can spend that easily on a first date with an American.

Filipinos are hard for us to find, since they are real people engaged in scamming. So please report all scammers so the next person can find them before it is too late.

I was married to a scammer it cost me more than $50,000 US.. She asked for a new Honda bike plus a chrome side car for her son who was unemployed .I moved her to a decent apt. bought her ,first fridge , first stove , first bed . Provided lunch money and trike fare for her niece so that she could finished high school. Provided full support for said niece while she was away at university, including tuition and all related expenses ,a computer ,cell phone etc. Paid for violin lessons for her adopted son , private school , lap top computer , cell phone. Paid for grand daughter to go prep school . Hard Luck Story . Asked me pay her sister’s debt , thus keeping her out of jail. Her son got married on credit. I paid the debt in full. The MEDICAL EMERGENCIES. Her brother needs to see a Dr. but has no money , I sent money , the brother has TB . The treatment for 6 months was $100.00 each month , I paid for it. Flat screen TV , internet , cable ,large washing machine , asked for AC unit , if they don’t get it ,they will get stroke . Almost bought land to build a house ,I am happy I did not . All seems well until I stopped sending money to her adult married children in the Philippines , I did it for 4 yrs. She was now working , that was her responsibility. As soon as she got her appt. letter for her final interview for her permanent green card .She embarked on a campaign of f character assassination . This was done at her work place , among her church friends our neighbors , all who she could communicate with .She said she is living in fear of her life .SHE LIED UNDER OATH in front of the INS interviewer {, PERJURY} She made a false statement to a police officer , when she asked for police protection to move out, .knowing that I posed no threat to her .From the INS office her next stop was the police station . When the Police Officer arrived , I was not surprised , because this is the script they all follow . Get as much money as you can in the shortest possible time then take off. BUT BEFORE LEAVING TRASH HIS CHARACTER . THE officer stayed a few minutes after I told her ,her presence was not necessary , as I pose no threat to my wife moving out . THE OFFICER LEFT BEFORE SHE WAS THROUGH PACKING .

I have decided to find a girl from the Philippines and know most will be a scam. After I got good with dealing with the scammers I decided to flip the script on any player that try me. I won’t stop trying so I will play those who try to play me. My story is real so what happens when I get asked for money and if the money is $100.00 or more after a few words., I let this girl know that is a lot to ask of me this soon. Next I tell her about someone who I dated and that we was lovers and she never asked me for anything. I also explain that I don’t know if I can trust her because we haven’t gotten that far… I tell her about what the other girl did for me so to know that she trusts me and I let this scammer know that the girl that was my lover made nude pictures for me and I didn’t ask, she wanted to do this for me so we will have trust… this will make you the winner in her eyes and will change the tone of the whole conversation. It also may get you some nude shots because this will challenge this scammer to do something. They want to play let them but protect yourself. hope this is helpful

I have met a girl online from Cebu , I have known her for 10 years and I do support her , and now after reading your article I feel like a fool , we met after 10 years and I feel in love with her , she never really asked for anything , but since I have been back , she’s been asking for more and more money , I need help , its been 2 years since I have left and I have sent 1000s , i have set a budget for her , buts always she needs extra , I want to believe her , but after reading several articles on sending money I don’t know anymore , I love her and I believe she loves me , but we always argue about money , its very stressful for me , because we are talking marriage , I am very concerned, any advice ?

    • Romance Scams Now Publisher January 16, 2016 at 10:02 pm - Reply

Well, this is a gray area. You obviously get something from the relationship, but is it what you want and need? Clearly you are supporting her. If she did not lie to you it’s not technically a scam, but also if you believed this was going somewhere it was not, you are being used.

      • Anonymous May 24, 2016 at 3:13 pm - Reply

My advise to you , run as fast as can as far away from her as you can. I was married to one , actually we are still married , but separated . She moved out the day she had her final interview with INS. for her permanent green card. We met online in 2012 ,she told me she was just a simply woman, poor and one who loves the Lord. She was looking for a man who loves the Lord who she would spend the rest her life with.
